He graduated from the Faculty of Accounting Economics, Gajah Mada University (1974), graduated from the Masters of the Economic Institute Boulder Colorado USA, and also graduated from the S3 University of Maryland USA Faculty of Economics.
In his professional career before joining PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero), he served as Minister of Finance of Indonesia (1998).
